06-179 Director Accounts Payable

GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for the timely and accurate payment of Luxottica Retail invoices in compliance with

Company policies.  Safeguards assets and ensures accurate financial reporting.  Strategically partners with key process owners to develop creative recommendations to increase profitability.  Trains and develops Associates for broader responsibilities within the Organization.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership and direction to the Expense Payables, Merchandise Payables and Medicare/Business Licensing Departments- approximately 10 exempt / 30 non-exempt Associates.  Trains and develops Associates to meet Organizational needs.
Independently identifies opportunities to streamline operations and to reduce operating expenses.  Implements approved plans.
Independently prepares meaningful and actionable analytical analysis.
Effectively communicates with management (i.e. accounting controls, initiatives and issues).
Key liaison with Merchants, Expense Managers, Vendors and other Senior Finance Department Management.  Strong Team player who participates in and leads cross-functional project teams.
Ensures the company?s assets are adequately safeguarded.
Ensures adequate internal controls over financial reporting are in place and functioning as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley act.
Develops budgets ensuring departments are staffed appropriately.  Supports Senior Management in the development of objectives, strategies and plans.  Accurately forecasts future expenses.

 SPECIFICATIONS

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS-
Must have an in-depth knowledge of accounting, management of complex systems, and financial control techniques.  Must be able to effectively organize and delegate.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to all levels of the organization persuasively, firmly and diplomatically.
Ability to work independently on complex projects and manage concurrent responsibilities.

 

EDUCATION ?

B.S. in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

MBA and CPA preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE ?

7-10 years accounting and management experience

Retail industry experience preferred

Supervisory experience required
