For over 40 years our client has been an industry leader in both design and manufacturing of automotive and recreational vehicle seating and interior trim components.  They count several major auto makers among their customers and are Tier 1 providers of auto interiors to Honda in America.  From concept to completion, they offer product design, engineering, prototypes and testing.  Their QCD (Quality-Cost-Delivery) manufacturing operations include injection, metal stampings, cutting and sewing of seat trim covers and complete seat assembly for numerous automotive and recreational vehicles.

 

Summary:

The Cost Accounting position works with their clients in the U.S. and in Japan.  The majority of the customer base is Japanese-owned and many of the contact people speak Japanese, so knowledge of the language is essential. Helps track the cost and profitability of the seats being manufactured.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

? Estimate cost and price for all new products and service parts, and submit quotations to clients

? Oversee the estimation processes and procedures

? Report product profitability for a new potential product to top management including a break-even point analysis between the sales and fixed/variable costs.

? Review the material usage variance (inventory variance), purchase price variance, direct labor rate variance, overhead rate variance and provide reports specifying and comparing key factors affecting price and profitability of products on a monthly basis

? Manage applications of cost accounting principles to conduct studies, which provide detailed cost information

? Calculate labor rates for each department and work cell, and various overhead rates annually

? Report the profitability of each product (over 100 finished goods) to top management on a monthly basis

? Develop policies and procedures related to the job, create new methods to reduce and measure costs and install and maintain the cost accounting system

? Support the cost accounting unification project for the entire organization as a project leader

 

Requirements:

? 4 Years College Degree desired, but experience and knowledge will outweigh education.

? Must have 2~3 years working experience at Manufacturing environment.

? Good interpersonal and organizational skills necessary.

? Must write English and Japanese fluently with good grammar, spelling and punctuation.

? Fluency in Spanish a plus.
