A/P - G/L Accountant

South Seattle Auto Auction  (Kent, WA) is now seeking applicants for the following position:

 Accounts Payable / General Ledger Accountant - Accounting department



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position maintains and monitors accounts payable.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:Research and resolve vendor disputes regarding invoices and/or statements.Verify accuracy of invoices.  Notify responsible department of any discrepancies or inaccuracies.  Follow-up to ensure issues are resolved.

? Ensure invoices are properly received, stamped and approved (via posting sheet or department head) before processing.Post invoices to general ledger, select payments and calculate most suitable invoice payment dates (i.e. discount, 30-day, etc.).Audit invoice file for accuracy and balance to general ledger.Issue checks according to proper accounting procedures, print checks and match with invoices to ensure accuracy.Obtain two signatures for all checks, and mail checks to vendors and customers.Maintain cash receipts processing and reporting in compliance with company policies and procedures.Work in conjunction with Controller at month end in researching any expense account fluctuationsComplete account reconciliations, research and resolve discrepancies.Complete IRS forms as required by statutory law.May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate. Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
