Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant in the Orlando area. DESCRIPTION

Perform various accounting functions with supervision from the Asst. Controller or Accounting Manager.

. Assist the Accounting Manager with all month-end close activities, including review and approval of sales journals and other journal
. Monitor inter company account activity and work with division(s) to prepare journal entries
. Assist division accounting personnel with questions pertaining to coding and/or corporate policy
. Understand and apply basic accounting principles including revenue recognition and cost capitalization
. Prepare walk forwards or reconciliations of account balances
. Review and analyze balance sheet accounts
. Monitor unposted accounts payable transactions
. Review and approve journal entries submitted by individual divisions
. Review and approve vendor set-up and edit requests submitted by divisions
. Review and approve cash receipts journal entries submitted by individual divisions
. Prepare corporate deposit of division checks, including journal entry of such
. Review specific general ledger account activity
. Special projects as requested

REQUIREMENTS
Education level: Associates degree (in related discipline) or higher preferred.

Previous Work experience required :
Requires minimum two years related experience.

Additional knowledge, skills and/or abilities :
Basic understanding of accounting principles. Strong Excel skills a plus. Prefer JD Edwards or AS400 system experience.
