ACCOUNTING MANAGER ? GENERAL LEDGER AND ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS

Corporate ControllerDescription:

The successful candidate will perform the monthly closing of books and monthly account reviews; prepare, analyze and reconcile consolidated monthly and annual financial statements, cross train daily accounting operations duties with other leads, and perform necessary non-IT accounting system maintenance to ensure integrity of data and reporting.Accountable for the timely, accurate and team-coordinated execution of the monthly financial close within specified deadlines. Monthly close includes transaction and account review, agreement of sub ledgers, integrity of indirect allocations, and overall reconciliation to verify accuracy of close process and resulting financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows).
Responsible for the financial statement consolidation of 3 business units, and work closely with Corporate Financial Manager to provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets to actual performance, financial reports and financial trends included in management reports timely.
Oversee the management of the day-to-day operations of accounts payable, providing guidance to independent team of 3, and ensure transactions are in compliance with FAR, JTR, CAS, and corporate policies.
Cross train peer functions to include general ledger reconciliations, audit support, bank reporting, financial analysis, credit and collections, revenue recognition, billing, corporate tax, payroll, cash management and internal controls.
Assist with annual financial reporting and preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and with robust disclosures.
Assist management in preparing expense budgets, justifying capital budgets,
Assist Controller in the formulation, implementation and maintenance of all company-wide financial policies and plans as required. Ensure internal control procedures are adequate, properly documented and regularly reviewed.
Responsible for non-IT management of DELTEK Costpoint to ensure data and report integrity. Familiarity with this software package to include modules of projects, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, system administration a must. Functions include performance of toolkits, and various reconciliations on a periodic basis.
Complete special financial and administrative projects as needed.


Education:

Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field; professional designation such as CPA, MBA, CMA a plus.Requirements:Requires minimum 8 years related experience in finance/accounting (with progressive title and duties), with at least 4 with supervisory responsibility. Mix of private and public accounting experience desirable.
Supervisory track record of having trained and developed subordinates.
Experience as an Accounting Manager in government contracting (professional services) environment and must possess thorough understanding of FAR, CAS, DCAA, pools and rates. Demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage, and supervise the activities related to daily operations and month end close. Provide management/direction in the period/annual closing process.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Ability to manage priorities, communicates with team members, and adheres to deadlines.
Proficiency in DELTEK Costpoint. Proven ability to develop, implement and manage computer-based accounting systems.
Experience with domestic payroll required, while international payroll experience desired.
High degree of professionalism, sound business judgment, and discretion dealing with sensitive data.
Excellent written and verbal skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to interface and communicate effectively with executive management and all other functions in the company.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be a self-starter with the natural energy, motivation and endurance to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. Need superb execution skills, flexibility, ability to balance priorities and quickly adapt to changes in business requirements.
