ACCOUNTING MANAGER NEXT ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

The ALJEN GROUP is seeking an Accounting Manager for their Prominent, Well Known client. Our client is a fast growing firm with a long track record of success. This Accounting Manager position is based in downtown NYC.

 

 

POSITION REPORTS TO:  Director of Finance/Accounting

 

SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 Responsible for preparation of all SEC filings, i.e. 10-K and 10-QsOver see Month end CloseAssist legal department in the preparation of annual proxy statementLiaise with external auditors regarding all facets of the SEC filings and treatment of accounting issuesPerform research on various accounting matters to ensure the books and records are kept in accordance with GAAPAssist in the reporting of complex transactions including:

?  FAS 123 reporting as it relates to equity compensation

?  Foreign currency transaction/translation gains/losses for our international initiatives

?  Transactions relating to preferred stock; EPS

?  FAS 109 as it deals with our international ventures

 Manage all aspects of preparing monthly, quarterly and audited annual reportsWork directly with external auditors on schedules and work papers for quarterly and year end audits.Apply accounting knowledge to the execution of monthly closing activities and actively participate in monitoring the quality of financial informationSupervise staff consisting of  both Senior and Staff Accountant

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

 Ability to clearly communicate results of work both orally and in writing to management.Ability to cooperate and work with others in order to strengthen and cultivate relationships.Team playerAbility to carry out multiple assignments and plan accordingly in order to meet scheduled deadlines.Skill in using PC applications for advanced analysis and useful reporting.Knowledge of established principles, theories, techniques, and methodology.Ability to effectively implement analytical and organizational skills in order to carry out and follow through with complex assignments for which no clear precedents exist.Ability to participate in the development of policies and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Bachelor?s degree in AccountingPublic Accounting experience requiredDetail OrientedSolid Computer skills- EXCEL7-10 years of related experience.
