AP Clerk

Position Title:  AP Clerk

 

 

I. Description of Position

 

The AP Clerk will provide day-to-day transactional support to various operating groups within the department to process invoices and book AP general ledger entries. In addition, the AP Clerk will work closely with the AP Supervisor in the maintenance of acceptable service levels for invoice processing.

 

The AP Clerk will be responsible for: (1) routing non-PO invoices for approval to the appropriate plant personnel, (2) performing 3-way matching for PO invoices, (3) executing communication for approval and follow-up within workflow technology, (4) posting AP general ledger entries for processed invoices, (5) processing p-card, corporate card, and T&E, (6) other duties as assigned.

 

II.  Responsibilities for Personnel

 

No direct responsibility for people management.

 

III. Principal Contacts

 

The AP Clerk will work closely with and for the AP Supervisor. In addition, the AP Clerk will be required to follow up on specific plant inquiries channeled through the AP Supervisor.

V.  Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

Education ?High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Experience ? required to have a minimum of 3 years of data entry and preferably Accounts Payable experience. Experience working in a Shared Services environment and using JDE Edwards, BPCS, or Ross Rams systems as well as workflow and content management is a plus. The aforementioned experience may come from a multitude of sources, with preference given to experience in a fast-paced consumer products, manufacturing, food service, or a public accounting background.

(1) be a strong team player, (2) have strong verbal and written communication skills that will allow them to express key points in a clear manner, (3) have the ability to work with minimal direction when necessary to support the group?s objectives, (4) possess high attention to detail, and accuracy, within a high-volume work environment, (5) Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in various computer applications (flexible and sophisticated enough to work with any accounting system), MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and others.
