AP/Staff Accountant

This position is with an Entertainment/Electronics company. The role will start out as a Full-Cycle AP person and will expand into a Staff Accountant position working with the GL. Eventually this role will supervise one clerk. General Accounting: Prepare analyses and reconciliation of general ledger accounts Assist in preparation of journal entries Responsible for the daily cash reconciliation, monthly bank reconciliations, fixed assets and month-end account reconciliations Prepare inventory reconciliations Prepare sales reports Assist with month-end close Assist with ad hoc projects as required Accounts Payable: Responsible for the prompt month end-close, reconciliation, and accrual of Accounts Payable Generate and issue checks on a weekly basis Responsible for follow up and matching purchase orders to invoices Verify that services were completed and/or goods received Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment Maintain complete and organized vendor files Accounts Receivable: Enter payments into accounting system and apply to customer accounts Maintain accounts receivable records and reports Analyze and reconcile customer statements Responsible for prompt month end-close Identify and collect past due balances Process credit card payments File all accounts receivable documents, including invoices, credit memos and payments Fulfill information request from customers

Qualifications :
Education, Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting and 3 years of experience Internet industry experience desirable and experience handling account reconciliation issues with large retailers a plus. Experience working for a public company desired Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft excel required. QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong organizational and project management skill including the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
