AR Collections Manager

Reports to:  Accountant

Salary: Non-exempt

 

 Job Description:

?  Credit analysis and collection of student and/or third-party accounts receivable

?  Developing solutions to obtaining payments.

?  Documenting collections actions.

 

 Job Duties:

?  Plans collections by receiving and analyzing accounts receivable aging reports; determining appropriate action.

?  Communicates with student accounts team members for validation of collection information.

?  Notifies student and/or third party of verified delinquent status.

?  Deal with any escalated AR/collections issues by using strong customer service skills.

?  Documents collections actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records.

?  Provides management control information by recording and summarizing collection data and trends.

?  Provides suggestions of actions to management on collections processes/issues.

?  Interact with other departments to assist in collections efforts.

 

Criteria:

?  Extent and relevance of experience in working in finance, preferably in collections.

?  Extent of experience in providing excellent customer service to a diverse population.

?  Evidence of ability to work as a member of a team.

?  Evidence of ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

?  Extent of demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

?  Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills; an understanding of database management.

?  Exhibit strong leadership skills in supervising staff.

?  Extent of ability to solve problems while handling sensitive, confidential information.

 

 

Job Requirements:

?  Must be able to work Monday ? Friday, during core business hours.  Some Saturdays and extended hours during peak times may be required.

?  Must have ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English via multiple on line and electronic formats.



 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor?s Degree and at least 3 years experience in the AR/collections field.  Supervisory experience a plus.

Experience with Windows based applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
