ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF SEC REPORTING
LARGE HEALTH CARE/Pharmaceutical COMPANY IS SEARCHING FOR AN ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
Primary responsibilities include:
? Financial Reporting - Prepare and coordinate the Company?s SEC reporting of Form 10-Qs and Form 10-Ks to ensure timely, accurate filings. Plan for and meet the SEC?s accelerated financial reporting deadline effective with the year-end 2006 Form 10-K.
? Accounting treatment - Evaluate and document a wide-range of transactions for proper accounting treatment, including licensing or revenue transactions, research and development expense treatment, equity based compensation or other related transactions.
? Accounting management ? Manage activities in areas such as:
? General Ledger? Supervise Accounting Manager and rest of G/L team to ensure timely and accurate accounting transactions, processes and monthly closings. Identify and develop process improvement opportunities in all areas, as appropriate.
? Accounts Payable? Supervise A/P supervisor and rest of A/P team to ensure timely and accurate A/P process. Identify and develop process improvement opportunities, as appropriate.
? Payroll and Fixed Assets ? Supervise Manager and staff to meet accounting responsibilities in these areas.
? Support other areas within Accounting, particularly project accounting, budgeting, audit and Sarbanes-Oxley, Finance or other departments as needed.
Requirements:
? Bachelors in Accounting and CPA
? 5+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with Big 4, in audit department.
? 5+ years in industry, in a public company, with SEC reporting responsibilities
? Managerial experience supervising a general accounting function
? Strong accounting system skills; strong PC skills (Excel, Word); SAP preferred
? Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
