Accountant/Consultant-Healthcare
About the Opportunity This position will be responsible for performing various accounting functions with respect to general ledger accounting and financial statements analyses, in addition to assisting in the preparation schedules, statistical studies and financial statement highlights for clients of HFS Consultants. The ideal consultant will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, along with 1-2 years of California hospital/healthcare accounting experience. The successful candidate must be able to expertly review, correct and discuss financial matters with clients and HFS Managers; prepare reports; calculate and interpret financial data; and analyze economic trends and conditions. Must be familiar with MS Office with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, in addition to possessing 10-key skills. The excellent communicator we seek will have a strong work ethic, professional attitude and acute attention to detail. Travel to client sites within California should be expected.
Qualifications

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Can compute detailed calculations such as rate, ratio, and percentage. Can draw and interpret bar graphs.
Uses multiple resources, quantitative, and qualitative research methodologies to capture and interpret information.
Expertise in the use of corporate financial and accounting systems, implementation of corporate financial practices, and the ability to analyze financial and operating information for management to facilitate decision-making.
Expertise in using Excel, Lotus, Access, SQL, SAP, or other applicable accounting and financial software to record or analyze financial information.
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
Maintains painstaking attention to detail, completing multiple or repetitive tasks. Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.
Can be trusted to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information.
Takes an exhaustive approach to every task. Committed to comprehensive and in-depth analysis, planning, and implementation of every work effort.
Working knowledge of applicable FASB accounting rules for this industry.
BA/BS or equivalent experience.
