Accountant - Power Settlements

The primary responsibility of the Settlement Accountant is to properly account for and settle the Wholesale/Retail Power and Gas activities for all of our Organic Load Scheduling Entities (i.e. Central Power & Light, West Texas Utilities, Direct Energy L.P., Muli-Family and Direct Energy Business Services).  The roles to accomplish this task include, but are not limited to the following:


Validate Allegro (risk/deal capture system) results for all monthly power purchases

Tie-out and invoice all third party counter-parties monthly for both dollars and volumes

Interact with our Qualified Scheduling Entity (Tenaska) and settlement group members on all power related activities (i.e. ancillary fees, QSE invoices, ERCOT settlements, etc)

Interact with Gross MarginGroup on settlement results out of Allegro for reporting purposes

Tie-out and report all gas swap activities with Calgary gas operations

Properly record all monthly power related activity (i.e. power invoices, QSE invoices, broker invoices, etc.) into SAP

Reconcile all power related balance sheet accounts in SAP on a monthly basis

Interact with Cash Forecasting group/Toronto on weekly cash requirements

Work with settlement team members and IT personnel on internal ERCOT settlement system - I-Resolve

Process and account for weekly ERCOT invoices out of I-Resolve.



Bachelor's in Accounting

2 yrs+ experience Settlements Accounting (Power and or Gas)

ERCOT experience strongly preferred

Risk System (Allegro or similar) experience strongly preferred
