Perform Accounting and Analysis functions as part of the Washington Mutual Corporate Finance team.
Maintain a strong sense of responsibility and ownership of team deliverables.
Work closely with the team through the accounting & analysis process.
Obtain reasonable assurance of legal, regulatory & policy compliance and financial statement presentation accuracy with regard to significant transactions.
Provide technical accounting guidance on significant transactions.
Seek to obtain a detailed understanding of the transaction and assess impact and reasonableness of entries proposed.
Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines, ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task.
Develop segment & sub-segment expertise to be able to understand transaction flows.



Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in situations involving tight deadlines and independent thinking.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
4+ years of progressively responsible work experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
Strong technical accounting skills and working knowledge of GAAP.
Strong team building and leadership skills along with effective oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, high energy and excellent organizational skills.
Flexibility in responding to changing needs and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually, with minimal supervision.
A strong work ethic.
