Senior-level income tax accountant position.  Analyzes, classifies and reviews complex accounting transactions and interrelationships.  Prepares interpretation of accounting results and advises management.  Identifies complex accounting problems, researches solutions and corrects problem.  Examines financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles.  May have lead responsibilities for special projects. 


 
Position Responsibilities


 


 
Prepares complex tax analysis and journal entries.  Verifies the accuracy of information ensuring accuracy in the Company’s financial records.
Responds to questions and inquiries from internal and/or external auditors .Resolves issues and makes adjustments.  Maintains documentation. Assist in the preparation of the Company’s tax provision including both financial expense and cash flow impact
Prepares all required Federal and State Tax Forms.
 


Classifies and/or reviews recording of complex accounting transactions.  Analyzes complex accounting interrelationships.  Prepares and/or reviews interpretation of accounting results.  Advises management on the meaning of the results.

Examines a variety of financial statements and documents for completeness, accuracy and conformance with accounting requirements.  Prepares projections of accounting data to show effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition. 

Ensures that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations.  Suggests, recommends and implements changes to accounts, reports and administrative or data processing systems.  Identifies accounting problems, researches possible solutions and forms conclusions to present to the supervisor or other individuals involved.  Corrects problems.  Drafts procedures for review.

Quantitative Dimensions 


Receives general supervision.  Work is outlined by the supervisor, but assignments are prioritized and organized by the incumbent.  May have lead responsibilities.  May lead special projects and train other associates.  Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment.  May have defined responsibilities for a specialized segment of the accounting system.  Completed work is reviewed for reasonableness and conformity to agreed-upon procedures and spot-checked for accuracy.  Resulting decisions may have high impact, affecting many people or organizations, senior managers, personnel actions or expenditures. 


Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years in a specific discipline or functional area
Broad knowledge of the company policies and procedures required
Working knowledge of accounting applications in a computerized environment including personal computer and/or mainframe spreadsheet applications
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in applying accounting principles/theories and concepts
Excellent written and oral communication skills
