 Accounting Assistant

 

This candidate should be chosen based primarily on the following qualities:

 

?  Good working knowledge of accounting procedures:

  Accounts Payable

  Accounts Receivable

  Cost Accounting

 

?  Strong organizational and operational skills

 

?  Friendly, outgoing personality

 

?  Highly independent, hard-working, self starter

 

?  Willingness and ability to perform all required tasks.

 

Specific duties, among others, are as follows:

Communication:

?  Share ideas and observations of systems and paper flows.  Suggest improvements.

?  Inform management of needed areas of improvements or fixes, i.e. computers or other equipment or systems.

?  Must inform supervisor when unable to complete assigned tasks within timeframe requested prior to deadline.

 

Customer Service:

?  Support sales staff provide answers in timely manner.

?  Make certain that all communications with customers are acknowledged (even when busy)

?  Adopt culture and spirit of Installation Excellence.

Daily bookkeeping:

?  Count money daily

?  Knows procedures for reconciling drawer with receipts and sales slips

?  Make daily deposits correctly (cash, checks, charges, etc.)

?  Post accounts receivable batches in system or forward to responsible associate.

?  Process accounts payable daily, cost inventories payables, and obtain owner approval on overhead expenses.

?   

 

 

 

Inventory Control:

?  Receive materials into system accurately and timely.

?  Process materials and labor claimed against vendors, properly process inventory involved.

?  Maintains adequate merchandise quantity levels

?  Is aware of and maintains a matched inventory

?  Concentrates on inventory turn.

?  Maintains constant awareness of inventory security.

 

Housekeeping:

?  Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner.

 

Work Hours:

?  Minimize special scheduling requests

?  Follow rules for meal/rest breaks

?  Understands and complies with attendance/tardiness policies

?  Understands overtime policies

?  Completes time sheets accurately)
