Accounting Clerk – Accounts Payable

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team at our Hauppauge, NY location.

 

Position Summary

 

Performs basic accounting functions, and provides administrative and clerical support.

 

Key Position Responsibilities

 Matches invoices and packing lists together.Checks and approves invoices for payment; resolves price and other discrepancies.Enters AP vouchers into computer and aids in preparation of AP check runs.Prints AP reports and maintains files.Maintains daily cash receipts activity.Answers routine payment inquiries.Assists in preparing documentation for product returns.Performs other clerical duties such as stuffing envelopes/applying postage, backing up receptionist on main switchboard, initiating service calls for office equipment, faxing, photocopying, filing, etc.

 

 

Position Requirements

 

*  AAS degree or equivalent, and one year minimum related accounts payable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

*  Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook

*  Solid data entry skills

*  Experience with ISO9001:2000 preferred.
