Accounting Clerk I Fixed Assets

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, performs entry-level accounting tasks. May perform such functions as assigning codes, identifying accounts, preparing data transaction sheets, analyzing and reconciling accounts, checking for accuracy, verifying, sorting, and checking claims, bills, invoices, vouchers, or the like. This is an entry-level position. Department specific functions are described below.

Job Functions:

1.Processes all invoices related to fixed asset for retail and Canada.

2.Works with Store Planning regarding purchase orders and with vendors regarding payment issues.

3.Records assets based on invoice payments.

4.Works with accounts payable personnel to research invoices to determine if fixed assets are included.

5.Maintains computer database of all computer equipment and adds new assets based on communication from the vendor.

6.Processes paperwork regarding Use Tax identification on assets and forwards to appropriate personnel.

7.Tracks additions and disposition of assets and prepares journal entries.

8.Participates in periodic inventory of assets, works with internal staff to reconcile inventory counts with equipment database.

9.Assists in the development and implementation of revisions and/or enhancements to the asset tracking system.

10.Performs inter-company transfer and other journal entries.

11.Files fixed asset records.

12.Assists Tax Compliance teams with check requests and reseller certificates.

13.Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1.HS diploma or equivalent

2.0 to 2 years previous related experience in accounting setting

3.General office skills

4.Customer service skills

5.Analytical and problem resolution skills

6.Basic computer skills with general office software and accounting systems

7.Normal office environment requiring ability to organize and prioritize workload, communicate effectively, sit for extended periods of time, use standard office equipment, and review and proof documents

Reporting Relationships:

1.Reports to Supervisor, Fixed Assets & Tax Compliance

2.Not responsible for supervising the work of others
