Accounting Clerk IV

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Qualified individuals will perform double entry bookkeeping in one or more of the following areas: posting actions to journals, identifying subsidiary accounts affected and debit and credit entries to be made and assigning proper codes; reviewing computer printouts against manually maintained journals, detecting and correcting erroneous postings, and preparing documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data; reviewing lists of transactions rejected by an automated system, determining reasons for rejections, and preparing necessary correcting material.

 

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Requires 3-5 years experience in document reconciliations, analyzing the causes of discrepancies, processing vouchers for payment, and maintaining spreadsheets.  Experience with automated accounting systems and spreadsheet.  Analyzing various acquisitions, receipt and billing documents to support payment processing.  MS Office Suite experience to include Excel and Access.

 

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 

 

Must be U.S. Citizen.

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

High School Diploma; College degree highly preferred.
