Accounting Grants Manager

The Jackson Health System is an integrated healthcare delivery system consisting of 12 primary care centers; two long-term care nursing facilities, one community hospital, two school-based clinics, seven clinics in the county?s corrections facilities and its centerpiece, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

 

We are currently looking for an Accounting Grants Manager to work in our Accounting department.  With administrative responsibility to the Corporate Controller, the Grants Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting function for sponsored research and grant activity of the Public Health Trust/Jackson Health System.  Incumbent will be responsible for the operation of the department and provide leadership to the Director?s office regarding accounting activity.  In addition, incumbent will be in charge of the performance of the staff within the department as well as the overall performance of the department.  Ensure hospital compliance with all applicable policies, rules and requirements.  Certify compliance with individual/federal restrictions on expenditures.  Coordinate annual A-133 audit as well as various individual audits throughout the year.  The incumbent will be responsible for the indirect cost proposal.

 

The criteria for this position are as follows: Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, preferably in Accounting required; Master?s degree in Accounting or MBA is preferred.  CPA desired.  A minimum of three years experience in Grant Accounting is required.  Incumbent must possess a minimum of three years of supervisory experience and a minimum of two years of Single Audit experience.  Requires the ability to succeed without constant supervision and the ambition to create/improve, to motivate and lead staff and create policy when required.  In addition, candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal and written skills.  This position requires enthusiasm, energy and the desire to work in an environment that emphasizes efficiency and service.  PC proficiency is desired, especially in Excel and Word.

 

Salary is commensurate with experience.
