Accounting Manager - Harbor Medical Associates

Harbor Medical is looking for an Accounting Manager to supervise a small but growing department!!

 

Harbor Medical Associates is a group of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and support staff dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of primary care services to patients in over ten South Shore communities. We are committed to the ideal that patient care comes first.

 

 The Accounting Manager will oversee preparation of monthly financial statements and is responsible for preparing strategic forecasts, budgets, plans, and analyses for application within and support of the corporation?s operations, policies and strategic business plan. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the CFO. Specific duties include the following:


1.   Financial reporting- Oversees preparation of accurate and timely financial information to senior management.  Compares budget with variance analysis and recommends action. Gathers revenue and expense information needed to prepare the annual budget, and for analysis and Board meetings.

 

2.  Prepares long- and short-term budgets, forecasts, plans, and analyses for application within and support of the corporation?s operations, policies and strategic business plan.

 

3.  Will oversee and be responsible for all payroll and accounts payable transactions.

 

4.  Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures to manage the application of corporate financial and operational site resources.


5.  Communicates regularly about the current financial position of corporation, the attainment of financial parameter objectives, and the overall business plan.

 

6.  Maintains Great Plains Dynamic Accounting Software.


7.  Assists CFO and site Managers in operations and analysis of business opportunities for the corporation.

 

8.  Accounting and audit functions of the business, to include monthly closing responsibilities, daily accounting, and on-going audit activities.

 

9.  Assists in special projects, to include business development activities, and new product development analytical support.  Support annual corporate and retirement plan audits, and tax compliance efforts.

 

10.  Other duties as assigned. 



 

Skills and knowledge requirements:
1. Strong oral and written communication skills.
2. Proven leadership skills in a team environment.
3. Knowledge of databases, data concepts, and tools and management skills.  Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access.
4.  Working knowledge of a major accounting system computer application preferably Great Plains Dynamic.
5. Expertise in areas of budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
6. Hands-on, self-starting, and creative.

 

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited 4-year university.
2. Five (5) years of experience in public and/or private industry accounting.
3. Documented success of a leadership style that emphasizes team building, delegated authority and flexibility to achieve satisfactory results in a changing environment.
4. CPA certification or CPA candidate is preferred.
