Accounting Manager - Irvine

Under the direction of the Controller and Assistant Controller, this position is accountable for ensuring that the financial statements and accounting controls adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policies. This position has primary responsibility for Company related General Ledger Accounting, supervisory responsibility for Cash Receipts and Accounts Payable and responsible for the monthly-closing process. This position interacts with all Department and Office Managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Supervise general ledger accounting, including journal entry and balance sheet account analysis review, allocation processing coordination.
2. Work with the Accounts Payable Supervisor and Cash Receipts Manager. Approve and release postings to the payables and receipts ledger. Ensure that all monthly steps are completed accurately and in a timely manner prior to month end close.
3. Review and approve all monthly journal entries related to general accounting functions
4. Review all cost center allocations and accrue all necessary expenses for month end closing.
5. Communicate with the Regional and Office Managers regarding monthly financial statement reviews and provide variance explanations for the appropriate reporting period.
6. Work with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure timely and accurate quarterly reviews and year-end audit..
7. Prepare special projects.
8. Perform all related duties as assigned.

Direct Supervisory Responsibilities: 1 Staff Accountant and 1 Senior Accountant

Bachelors or Masters' degree in Accounting, or equivalent, with a minimum of five years' experience.

CPA with public accounting experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls is preferred. Proficient knowledge of excel is required.
