Accounting Manager - NW Houston

A national wholesale distributor is seeking an Accounting Manager with the ability to review and process general ledger postings, perform balance sheet reconciliations and produce sales tax returns.

This position reports to the Assistant Controller with a dotted line to the CFO. Key Areas of Responsibility:Assist in reviewing and posting general ledger entriesAssist with month end closeProduce Sales Tax ReturnsProduce Consolidated Monthly and Quarterly FinancialsPerform Balance Sheet reconciliationsProvide Internal Audit Function for the Central regionInitiate wire transfers and ACH transfers as directedOther duties assigned by supervisor Qualifications:2-3 years experience in month end closings ? Multi company experience a plusStrong PC aptitude and skills, including intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and OutlookMust have excellent analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task, handle multiple priorities and changes in priorities with professional demeanor.Must be able to pro-actively problem solve to reduce time consuming reconciliation and audit processesStrong Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Education/Certificates:Minimum Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
