Description:

 Lead, manage, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC Interpretive rules over accounting policies and transaction control Evaluate accounting and financial reporting implications of complex transactions, assess and manage the implementation of new accounting policies and train business unit team members on key issues Understand complex accounting rules and related interpretations so timely and accurate guidance can be provided Work closely with the Manager of External Financial Reporting, Director of Internal Audit, and Manager of Corporate Accounting on SEC matters, Sarbanes Oxley Act 404 compliance, and corporate accounting and reporting, respectively Serve as an advocate for customer?s business objectives Take a proactive and confident style, with broad business acumen and the ability to develop creative business solutions to accounting issues Proven leadership and management skills; ability to influence and make things happen at all levels A high degree of organization skills, and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment The ability to effectively and efficiently set priorities according to customer/supervisor criteria The ability to successfully manage multiple short-term activities without impeding progress on longer-term activities Excellent communication skills Provide technical accounting support to all areas of the company ? with specific  focus on SFAS 91, SFAS 133, SFAS 140, SFAS 13, and Allowance for Loans and Leases Review and advise on accounting policies and procedures to ensure transactions are properly accounted for in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and SEC rules Lead and manage the development and documentation of accounting policies to incorporate technical accounting research Prepare new or revise accounting policies for inclusion in the company?s Financial Policy Manual Aid the National Manager in the implementation of applicable new accounting standards impacting the business by ensuring they are properly understood and practically interpreted and necessary policy and procedural changes are established.  Ensure documentation is Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliant Research new technical literature and monitor SEC, FASB, EITF and other standard setting bodies for future standards applicable to the company Manage relationships with external auditors, appropriate business group financial managers Drive the effort for increased automation of manual processes Analyze new Treasury deal structures; advise Treasury groups of compliance issues Other special projects as identified and requested

 

 

Requirements:4-6+ years Big Four public accounting, serving public clientele and dealing with complex accounting issues Polished communication skills ? including an ability to listen to the needs of the business units, comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, research complex matters, and present findings as well as recommendations in both oral and written presentations Global financial services experience Ability to apply appropriate judgment in 3 of 4 critical accounting policies BS in Accounting MBA in Finance or MA in Accounting a strong plus CPA required Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
