Accounts Payable Manager - Accounting - $70K +

MPA, Motorcar Parts of America (www.motorcarparts.com), with headquarters in Torrance, CA is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Accounting Team.

 

MPA, founded in 1968, opened its doors in Long Island, New York as a supplier of European and Japanese replacement parts. Originally MPA began operations servicing a small network of independently owned and operated auto parts stores.  Today, the Company is publicly traded and is among the leading suppliers of aftermarket starters and alternators for imported cars and trucks.  MPA?s sales are in excess of $100 million annually with a combined workforce of over 1,500 employees in CA, TN, Mexico, Singapore, and Malaysia.

 

Responsibilities & DutiesMaintain an accurate accounts payable sub-ledger.Minimize internal and external issues related to late or missed disbursements.Develop and maintain the system of internal controls required in the A/P department.Assist in the analysis of the purchasing through disbursement process and recommend changes and improvements in that process.Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely accruals and proper cut-off of payables.

 

QualificationsAbility to prioritize and multi-task5+ years of experience as a manager of a sizable A/P departmentExperience with account coding and month-end closeExhibits meticulous attention to detail and is committed to producing accurate and well organized workBachelor?s degree in business administration or a related field of study.
