Accounts Payable Product Specialist

Butler Animal Health Supply is the national leader in the sale and distribution of pharmaceuticals, specialized pet foods, medical supplies and equipment to the veterinary industry.  We are currently seeking enthusiastic people to join our Accounts Payable Department as an Accounts Payable Product Specialist.

 

Candidates must have: 

?  High school education with at least one to three years of accounts payable or related experience. 

?  Familiarity with mainframe accounts payable systems in an AS-400 environment preferred.

?  Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills required. 

?  Ability to meet deadlines, function independently and work as part of a team.

 

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

 

Process Company merchandise inventory disbursements ensuring that all invoices represent valid purchases prior to payments being made.  Maximize credit terms and discount opportunities. Correspond with vendors, branch and corporate personnel regarding outstanding invoices and issues. 

 

Open and date stamp all incoming merchandise inventory invoices.  Key invoices into the accounts payable system by matching product invoices with corresponding receiver information online.  Compare line item information and release invoices for payment.

 

File all detail in the paid file in vendor and voucher number order.  Reconcile accounts payable vouchers to daily edits to ensure the accuracy of disbursements. Review the unmatched purchase order report and identify the status of open invoices.

 

Reconcile and resolve any differences between invoices and receivers. Correspond with branches regarding possible receiving errors, outstanding invoices, questionable or misapplied charges, or any other product related issued.  Obtain Purchasing Department confirmation regarding pricing discrepancies and contact vendors regarding pricing and shipping errors.  Process vendor credits and reimbursements to ensure disbursement accuracy.
