Accounts Payable Specialist

Using established guidelines, this position is responsible for general accounts payable functions, including but not limited to entering vouchers/check requests and preparing accounts payable checks for payment.
*Review and enter expense vouchers for the firm on an agreed upon basis into the PeopleSoft system for payment.
*Verify authorization and approvals.
*Process checks that have been approved for payment on a weekly basis.
*Update vendor information in PeopleSoft to maintain current database.
*Keep vendor terms current.
*Handle vendor inquiries regarding payment information.

QUALIFICATIONS
*High school diploma. Some college accounting courses strongly preferred.
*Minimum one year experience in accounts payable required.
*Above average oral and written communication skills.
*Strong organizational skills required.
*Previous PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.
*Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications including MS Excel and MS Word.
*Good math ability as well as ability to operate 10-key adding machine.
*Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
*Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material with a level of professionalism and integrity.
*Self-motivated, results oriented professional.
*Proven customer service skills.
