Accounts Payable - Vendor Master

Responsibilities:

 
Verify new or modified vendor data against appropriate source documents and ensure Form W-9 has been obtained for all new vendors.
Contract new vendors, as necessary, to obtain acceptable and accurate vendor data.
Enter verified vendor data into the Oracle Accounts Payable module.
Verify tax-related data assuring that vendor income code corresponds to company status.
Communicate effectively with other departments to confirm accurate reporting of taxable status.
Continually monitor vendor master list performing maintenance functions such as changing vendor status, merging vendors with same tax ID or address, adding location codes to vendors with multiple addresses.

 Requirements:

 
Ability to multi-task and process new vendor files in a timely and accurate manner.
Reasoning ability to determine proper handling/processing of submitted documents.
Ability to verbally communicate with work team, department staff, other departments, vendors and center staff relative to work process.
Computer aptitude required to research and maintain database to complete assigned work.
Support Accounts Payable Manager and Supervisor as necessary to satisfactorily report and maintain records relative to Form W-9 and Form 1099 reporting.
10-key experience required.
Working knowledge of general office practices.
Knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures required.
Ability to use computer (Microsoft Outlook and Office) and learn new software research techniques.
Oracle experience preferred.
Must be able to adapt to change and be able to handle volume-based work load.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills required.
Ability to deal with high volume of phone calls.



Education:

 
High school diploma or equivalent required.
