Accounts Receivable Manager

Extendicare Health Services Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Extendicare Inc., and is a major provider of long-term care and rehabilitation services in the United States.  Extendicare Health Services owns and/or operates 148 long-term care facilities with capacity for 14,882 residents. 

 

A/R Manager - ALC

 

DEPARTMENT: Accounts Receivable

 

REPORTS TO:  A/R Controller

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the cash, billing, and accounting staff for the Assisted Living Centers.  This position is also responsible for monitoring the timely and accurate processing of staff workloads.  This position will also develop improvements in task oriented and reporting related functions, and implementing necessary changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

PHYSICAL

REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to lift 20 lbs.

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements.  Three years supervisory and medical billing experience preferred.  Long-term care experience is a plus.  Strong customer service skills.

 

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

1.  Manage, coordinate and direct all activities and functions of the Medicaid Billing Coordinators and Accounting Analysts for the ALC facilities.  This includes hiring, performance evaluations, supervision, training and development of the staff.

2.  Ensure that deadlines for the area are met; prepare and distribute billing reports timely and accurately.

3.  Update and maintain rate changes for Private and Medicaid payor types.

4.  Review and approve all refund requests, Journal Entries, and the monthly reconciliations to the General Ledger, as well as coordinate follow-up on these items.

5.  Coordinate and oversee all Medicaid billing functions so they are performed timely and accurately.

6.  Continuously evaluate and improve the processing functions, working with internal (corporate) and external (facility) staff to accomplish the goals.
