Job Summary:


Responsible for financial leadership supporting the America’s field organizations reporting to the Sr Director Field Operations Finance and Corporate Controller and dotted line to the VP of Sales for the Americas geography. 


 


The position plays a critical role in managing finance and planning activities ensuring compliance with Corporate financial policies and US GAAP, including revenue recognition criteria and participation in decision support efforts for America based business initiatives.  This position will be required to define the organizations needs and promote the ongoing development of the finance organizational model including developing and leading a quality team of professionals.


 


Essential Functions:


 


§ Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Corporate policies and local jurisdiction regulatory requirements.


§ Establish and manage relationships with corporate finance, Sales Operations and field personnel to ensure the adoption of globally consistent practices.


§ Continuous improvement and monitoring of the control environment in the field through control reviews, issue resolution, and financial metric reviews.


§ Actively participate in Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, particularly Section 404, as well as creating scalable ongoing maintenance process in the Americas. 


§ Decision support and business partnership role with the Americas leadership team for business initiatives including compensation planning, channel program development, revenue recognition and bookings quality, resource and facilities planning and varying other emerging issues.


§ Deal support including advising on the business model and economic implications.


§ Support the contract management process working with Legal and Sales Operations.


§ Active involvement in financial planning, forecasting and analysis.  Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and ongoing forecasts in partnership with Corporate FP&A, and partner with the Director of Revenue Accounting to forecast business volumes and the related revenue and backlog positions taking into consideration the strength of the pipeline, reserves, VSOE etc.


§ Oversight and participation in efforts to maintain, enhance and develop world class financial processes and related systems architectures, including expected transformation initiatives such as decentralized order processing.  The goal is to standardize and simplify processes using best practices and metrics to measure results with operational excellence in mind.


§ Support and provide input to the Global Tax and Treasury teams, including credit and collections and leasing support.


§ Field based audit and close support including participation in operating expense reviews as well as required testing for financial statement and SOX audits.  This may also include support of internal audit initiatives. 


 


Requirements:

§ Partner with a wide set of internal and some external customer groups to ensure conformance to compliance and governance matters and provide decision support capabilities as a commercially minded proactive business partner.


§ Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be a change agent for implementing new ideas and process improvements in an increasingly complex organization.


§ Sponsor corporate initiatives with standardization and simplification in mind.


§ Build a high performance, efficient team structure leveraging the talent in place today.


 


Qualifications / Experience:


§ US GAAP understanding including software revenue recognition


§ Proven ability to establish and build relationships across an organization.


§ Business acumen and ability to think strategically and proactively.


§ Highly motivated individual with results oriented mentality.


§ Confidence and experience level to manage the potential contradiction that can occur in a commercial environment while upholding governance.


§ Requires 10+ years related work experience preferably with a US multi-national company.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Education


 


Minimum of BA or BS in finance/accounting. CPA or equivalent required. MBA desired.
