We are currently recruiting high potential accounting and finance professionals to join the ACE USA Financial Reengineering Department.  This team is charged with driving financial process improvements throughout the Finance Division.  This is an entry-level position with an excellent opportunity to gain experience from a wide variety of projects.  It is expected that, once firmly established after 12-24 months, the Analyst will be provided the opportunity to move from this project-based team into a role within the ACE Finance Division.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

The Financial Reengineering Department provides numerous services to its business partners:

? Supporting business partners in the identification and implementation of financial process improvements (e.g., process flow analyses, streamlining of efforts)

? Embedding the use of best practices throughout the ACE USA Finance Division

? Working with operational areas to develop financial information needed for business decisions

? Assisting in the fulfillment of internal and external audit requests

? Providing ad-hoc project support (e.g., design of management reports, technical accounting reviews) under the guidance of departmental managers

 

The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in providing these services.  Example activities include:

? Retrieving, evaluating and synthesizing complex data from systems

? Collecting information through interviews, analysis and other research techniques

? Designing and preparing reports

? Working with team members to observe processes and review documentation to identify improvement opportunities (e.g., process flows, narratives)

? Consolidating issues and findings in a clear and concise manner

? Evaluating analyses performed to develop clearly documented conclusions and recommendations

? Proposing improvement recommendations for team consideration

 

SCOPE:

 

? The Analyst will be an integral team member on a variety of projects where type of work, colleagues and duration vary.  Consistency and guidance is provided through a mentoring arrangement to help ensure the Analyst?s long-term success within ACE.

? The position interacts with numerous business partners such as Finance (both GAAP and STAT), Treasury, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Global Compliance, Internal Audit, External Audit and product line areas (e.g., Accident and Health) within ACE.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Technical Skills

? Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance

? Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent

? Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and an ability to perform moderate to complex analyses

? Ability to work effectively on a team to understand, develop and refine financial and operational processes

? Proven problem solving skills

? Ability to work effectively across organizational areas and levels

? Desire to learn about the insurance industry (e.g., obtaining AIAF certifications)

? Familiarity with accounting pronouncements and standards (i.e., GAAP, FASB) and ability to apply the principles

? Strong time management and organization skills

? Strong verbal and written communication skills

? Proven leadership experience in an academic or business setting

? Enthusiastic self-starter

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Desired Technical Skills

? CPA or CIA designation (or demonstrated commitment to obtaining designations)

? Commitment to obtaining insurance industry designations

? Experience with end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel/Word/Access)
