This position is responsible for complying with Best Buy's state and local income tax filing requirements. This position will interact with various areas of the business to help ensure that business operations are appropriately reflected in the various filings. This role will also support and assist the tax team on state tax audits, state tax controversies, and understanding state tax implications of business changes. 
Develop and update workpapers to be used as the basis for state and local income tax compliance.
Prepare state and local income tax returns using the company's tax software.
Assist with providing support for state tax audits and various controversy matters.
Support the tax team in determining the state and local tax impact of the company's operational changes.
Assist with monitoring and understanding current state tax developments that impact the company.



Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required

CPA or pursuit of a CPA required

2+ years experience with preparation of increasingly complex business state and local income tax returns in public accounting (Big 4) or large corporate tax department

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree preferred (Taxation)
