Our client, an organization that is rapidly growing, is seeking a Payroll Tax Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assists with maintenance of Customer data, payroll paid calendars, federal/state/local account numbers, EFT mandates and due dates.


* Assists with the timely preparation of assigned logs and instructions for quarterly and yearly processing


* Responsible for input and implementation of Company Policies and Procedures on organization operating practices and for compliance to tax authorities payment and reporting requirements


* Performs other payroll tax reconciliations, analysis or special projects as assigned; prepares or assists in the preparation of recommendations and keeps manager currently and accurately informed of their status

Education, skills and/or Experience:

* Effective and professional communication skills with Customers, Taxing Authorities and co-workers


* 3-5 years experience working with filing of multi-state tax returns, 941's, state withholding and unemployment returns


* Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred


* FLS Payroll Tax systems experience desired

Working knowledge of the following desired:


* Basic accounting principles through education or work related experience


* Company procedures and policies


* Word processing, spreadsheet and FLS Payroll Tax System, FLS Year End Tax System, and other database applications


* Compliance requirements applicable to Federal, State and Local payroll taxes
