About the Job

Edelman seeks an Assistant Business Manager in the Chicago office.

 

Qualificiations:  The Junior Business Manager will have a thorough understanding of standard business practices and principles, and ideally possess knowledge of the PR and creative services industries. He/she will have accounting-related work experience, preferably in an agency (or similar time and materials-based business) setting. The Junior Business Manager will also have excellent communication skills, must have a team player attitude and possess a strong work ethic.


Responsibilities:  Work with senior management to develop internal budgets, projections and forecasts; track progress. Review monthly fees and expenses and analyze monthly P&Ls, providing clear and actionable advice on the issues that arise from same.  Review management reports including Missing Time, Utilization, Over/Under Service and Client Profitability.  Review billing worksheets, open job codes and create purchase orders.  Manage Letter of Intent/Client Contract process and ensure that projects are managed in accordance with contracts; assist with project budget tracking.  Ensure office wide compliance with Corporate Finance policies and procedures.  Assist Corporate Billing and Collections departments with reconciliations and A/R collections.  Assist in training staff on internal systems, procedures and project management skills.
