Assistant Controler

Bix Produce, a leading produce distributor, is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller for our St. Paul location, with opportunity for advancement. This position reports to the CFO.

 

Responsibilities for this senior-level position include:Independently manage general ledger for $65 million businessPrepare executive reports and monthly forecastsIndependently perform month-end and annual close processesOpportunity to assist in selecting and implementing new information systemInitiate process improvements for the accounting departmentAssist CFO with time-sensitive, detailed projectsSupervise Accounts Payable department

 

Additional Responsibilities:Recommends to management, corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company. Prepares reports, including the budget, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of p/l, balance sheet, cash flow, and covenant compliance. Assists in risk management issues and insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.  Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities. Maintains fixed asset records including GAAP, tax and AMT depreciation. Advises management on GAAP financial reporting issues. Directs independent third party audits. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.

 

Minimum Requirements:MUST have a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA a PLUSMUST have a minimum of 4 years of general accounting experienceExperience in public accounting HIGHLY DESIREDMUST have strong project management skills and be detailed orientatedMUST effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesCPA designation HIGHLY DESIRED
