Assistant Controller

 

Location:  Quality Business Systems in Redmond, Washington

 

Reports to: NWG Controller, Janet Faught

 

FLSA Status:  Exempt

 

Position Summary:

Assists Controller with the financial affairs of the organization and with preparation of financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

? Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

? Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of reports required by Corporate Accounting and internal management reporting.

? Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity and provide analysis to explain variances from budget and prior periods.

? Prepare monthly analysis of all balance sheet accounts.

? Preparation of monthly journal entries and approval of entries prepared by others.

? Prepare sales & use and personal property tax returns.

? Supervise personnel responsible for credit and collections, billing, cash posting and accounts payable. 

? Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and ensure compliance with company policies.

? Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.

? Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

? Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

? Review equipment capital requests and prepare capital expenditure analysis for corporate approval.

Education and Experience Required:

 

? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance

? 2 to 3 years experience in all aspects of accounting

? 1 to 2 years CPA experience

? Proven supervisory experience

? Exceptional communications skills

? Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)

? Knowledge of OMD and Monarch software a plus
