Assistant Controller - Mfg
Nationally recognized company is seeking a strong career minded professional to fill their Assistant Controller role.The ideal candidate will be career focused with a strong internal drive for growth and advancement. This is a grooming role, the candidate selected will be expected to be ready for promotion to controller in 3-4 years.
This is +$250M operation located in Kansas City.
Responsibilities
Perform cost and operating variance analysis Review and monitor the manufacturing performance during the month Prepare variance analyses, link to causes, and follow through on corrective actions Identify variance trends for plant efficiency and profitability improvement opportunities. Work with Plant Controller and management recommend and implement required actions Report and analyze variances for plant, Group, and Branch; support variance capitalization requirements. Maintain primary responsibility for accurate inventory costing and valuation Prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs Analyze and optimize plant variable costs Perform timely inventory and accrual reconciliations monthly Oversee inventory cycle counts and physical inventories Prepare the plant budget, monthly forecasts, and five year plan requirements Analyze financial impact of current and proposed actions as directed by Plant Controller New product costing and plant cost reduction programs Capital appropriations request justifications Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting Analyze financial results, identify performance issues and proactively initiate analyses and solutions Participate in the month-end financial close Effectively fill in as back-up for Plant Controller when required
RequirementsStrong cost accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment 4 yr degree (accounting, finance) MBA preferred The internal drive to grow and advance is absolutely required!!!Strong aptitude for utilizing software in anlayzing financial data and improving overall business performance
