Assoc. Financial Accounting/Control Manager

Great-West is currently hiring an Associate Financial Accounting/Control Manager to join our Corporate Team of professionals. Positon will manage the planning and direction of a subset of a functional area's activities related to general accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. Specifically responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the ledger accounts and financial statements in compliance with Company, GAAP standards, and in some instances, Statutory Accounting Principles. Formulates and directs the administration of approved accounting practices. Oversees the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs supporting the Accounting organization. May review the design and effectiveness of internal controls and represent accounting areas on new business initiatives. Performs duties inherent in a managerial role.

Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 6 years accounting experience. Public Accounting experience and CPA highly preferred. Intermediate MS Office skills. Looking for an independent worker with general direction. Candidates should have great attention to detail with knowledge and application of GAAP and Statutory accounting standards. Candidates should be able to handle varied and overlapping tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
