Associate Accountant - Fixed Assets

Works effectively with internal customers and other Fixed Assets team members to deliver quality accounting services in a timely and professional manner.

Accounting Functions

Monitor and perform transactional processing of fixed asset and capital project accounting.
Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records in the sub ledger systems. Also prepare, inputs, and post journal entries to the general ledger system.
Reconcile the subsidiary financial system to the general ledger; investigate and resolve problems and make necessary changes to subsidiary record or create journal entry input.
Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
Utilizes financial system and computer applications to input, retrieve or display accounting information.
Continuously deliver a quality work product in a reliable and professional manner. Continuously improves work organization and levels of communication in a manner that improves productivity of the team.

Process Functions

Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting for financial analysis projects, following prescribed procedures and practices.
Analyzes alternatives to address manual transaction input.
Participates in system upgrades by documenting business processes, determine fit/gap, training, testing, and system implementation.
Continuously delivers a quality work product in a reliable and professional manner. Continuously improves work organization and levels of communication in a manner that improves productivity of the team.
Assist Team Leader in special projects, reports and perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
q B.S. in accounting/finance or equivalent experience.q 1-2 years experience in accounting/finance required.q Ability to work independently to develop and recommend solutions.q Knowledge of GAAP and proficient with fundamental accounting concepts and procedures.q Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, and organization skills.q Customer service oriented with excellent follow up skillsq Proficient PC skills. Strong knowledge of Excel and Access preferred.
