Associate Director of Accounting-contract

Ourclient located in the Metro-West region has an immediate position available for an Associate Director of Accounting.

The Associate Director of Accounting will manage the Corporate month end closing process under very tight deadlines ensuring accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Frequent interaction with Business Unit and Corporate finance functions, including management of a department which partners with a third party Logistics Provider for order to cash process.

Prepare audit schedules for external auditors and Internal Audit Group on quarterly basis and at year end. Review and monitor key control activities to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, internally and controls at third party provider.

Manage and develop accounting and finance staff and share best practices across Finance organization.

Position ensures the accuracy of financial results by applying technical accounting knowledge. This position works with the Accounting Director to help identify and communicate risks and opportunities. Provide project-based support for strategic Corporate initiatives, including integration of acquisitions. This position works successfully to achieve identified goals and objectives of the Corporate Finance organization.

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Requirements:
Must have 10+ years business experience, and 5 + years in supervising, hiring, training and development of accounting staff.

2 plus years experience working with external parties including Internal and External Auditors

1 plus year experience with International accounting

Computer skills must include Excel, PowerPoint and Word and
Hyperion Pillar and Enterprise or comparable or, MFG Pro or other ERP systems.

Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
Public Accounting experience/CPA preferred

Travel: Must be willing to travel out-of-state. Must be willing to travel between locations in order to support staff and meet with business partners
