Associate Finance

Job Description: Associate, Finance Job Summary The primary functions of this position are coordinating various aspects of financial management at Sapient (may include payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, purchasing, financial analysis etc.).

The Associate, Finance works under the supervision of a Senior Associate or Manager, Finance. In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, moderately noisy and team-based. Additionally, occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
I. Financial Management Tasks
* Receives and reviews invoices, purchase order requests, payroll changes, etc.
* Processes accounting and financial transactions timely and accurately using standard accounting practices and Sapient procedures
* Reviews accounting and financial records and reports for accuracy and corrects any problems
* Prepares invoices and/or reports and distributes as appropriate
* Maintains confidentiality of all accounting and financial records
* Performs functions associated with monthly financial closing
* Files documents such as receipts, invoices, reports, and other records
* Processes wire transfers

* II. Partnering
* Coordinates with other persons within Finance as well as other areas of Sapient to ensure effective and efficient operations and to resolve issues that may occur
* Assists management in the development of accounting and other financial policies
* III. Communication
* Responds to inquiries from employees, Sapient managers, clients, vendors and other outside parties
* Corresponds both orally and in writing with internal and external parties

* IV. Company Contribution
* Assists with related special projects, as required

Job Requirements:

Education:
* Bachelor's degree required preferably in accounting, finance, business or a related field; or 2-plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Experience Guidelines:
* 0-3 years of related work experience
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and others both inside and outside Sapient
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Basic word processing and strong Excel spreadsheet skills. Oracle Financials skills a plus.
* Must be able to work effectively with internal and external clients
