Associate - Regulatory Compliance

We currently are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our National Credit Union Compliance Consulting practice to conduct regulatory consulting assignments for our credit union clients. This group is THE premier provider of regulatory compliance consulting to the Credit Union industry. The consultant will serve credit unions throughout the Mid Atlantic region and will require up to 50% travel. Relocation is not required. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience as a financial institution compliance officer, internal auditor or financial consultant, with consumer compliance background. Credit union experience is a plus.

The goal of typical consulting projects is to assess compliance with all state and federal regulations, including appropriateness of policies and procedures and compliance with government agency reporting requirements. Our firm promotes ongoing learning, continually challenges employees in their

Duties/Responsibilities include:

Keep abreast of changes in industry regulations and develop own competency through continuing education and by obtaining additional professional certifications.
Plan and execute audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Identify and document findings using the firm?s automated work papers.
Assist clients in dealing with regulators on specific compliance matters and develop compliance programs to mitigate risk. Report on compliance with specific credit union-related regulations and provide up-to-date technical information to clients on changes in regulations.
Develop and communicate recommendations for improvement of controls to clients.
Prepare and issue audit reports.
Able to effectively make presentations to clients in a formal setting.
Identify additional areas of service to clients.


Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum of three years experience as a financial institution compliance officer, examiner, regulatory compliance consultant, or as a banking or credit union regulator involved in regulatory compliance matters.
B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
Industry certification such as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Examiner or the equivalent is a plus.
General understanding of business dynamics and operations.
Ability to think strategically and participate in the organization and management of a multi-disciplinary team
Must be comfortable in a business development role.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to travel out of throughout the Mid Atlantic region overnight (up to 50%)
Must be comfortable in a team environment
