Asst Controller - Walnut Creek/Concord area Biotech firm with FANTASTIC opportunity

Rapidly growing bio-tech located in Walnut Creek/Concord area has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller. Excellent growth opportunity as this position is due to expand as the company?s products approach FDA approval. According to their numbers and growth trends, company revenue is currently at $6mill now and will quickly be at $20million. Candidate will have the opportunity to expand into Controller role and beyond as the company continues its growth pattern.  This is an exciting time in an exciting company and certainly will be a solid addition to the right candidate?s career experience.  There is a good chance an Accounting Manager/Supervisor will be added after this position is filled in order to alleviate a lot of the day to day managing functions the Asst Controller would face ? this would be discussed and decided by the Controller and Assistant Controller.

 

KEYS REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

CPA is REQUIRED

ideally from the Big 4

2-3 years public accounting experience

2-3 years private experience

Revenue Recognition is required

Well versed in GAAP.

Can implement controls, processes, etc.

Must be hands on but still be able to deal with various department heads

Hungry, energetic, good common sense, good attitude.

Experienced in directly managing 8+ people

Reporting, planning, directing and scheduling for accounting department

Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Assist the Controller with the budgeting process
