Assistant Manager, Investor Accounting

This position performs managerial duties including planning the Unit's monthly schedule, reviewing the management report, directing staff and assisting in operations as necessary.
Key functions will include reviewing/approving cutoff reconciliation and cutoff reports to investors, daily payoff reports/remittances, daily/monthly remittances (and other internal wire check requests) and custodial account reconciliations. Involves ensuring proper boarding of new loans, acquired loans, sub-servicing portfolios and other loans to be serviced by the company, in addition to analyzing current operations to recommend new procedures as required to maintain proper controls and support operations. Incumbent will plan for future needs for proper servicing of the portfolio. Supervises, motivates, evaluates and trains Unit personnel, in addition to providing operational and management instruction, managing any situations that arise and enforcing company policy.

The successful candidate will be a college graduate with a degree in Business or Accounting and 2-3 years experience in an accounting controlled environment. IBM PC knowledge in Excel, FoxPro, WinWord or Access is desirable, as are strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Mortgage Banking and Investor Accounting is a plus.
