Assurance Analyst

Shell Oil Products US. is currently seeking a Assurance Analyst for its Houston, Texas location.


Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for administering assurance activities for the Controllers organization under the direction of the Business Assurance Manager.
 
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Ensuring compliance with SOX controls within assurance area
- Assisting with year-end business assurance letter activities
- Monitoring Status of Accounts compliance for OP US, including reviewing of early-warning quarterly reports for unusual items
- Maintaining Status of Accounts Reporting (SOAR) guidelines and interfacing with user community to ensure consistent application of standards across OP US
- Facilitating quarterly Status of Accounts meetings between the Controller and all Account Owners
- Tracking of internal audit findings and resolution for OP US Controllers function
- Maintaining complete set of Financial Audit Requests (FARs) for audit work, and monitoring audit invoices paid against these requests
- Compiling information for quarterly assurance presentations
- Maintaining Business Control Incident (BCI) log for OP US
- Assisting in completion of quarterly letters of representation to external auditors
- Assisting with updates to OP US Manual of Authority; including interaction with Group focal points & GRA managers
- Assisting with modifying assurance activities, sox controls, and internal control processes as part of the Streamline & GSAP implementations
- Assisting with administration of Business Continuity Plan
- Budgeting for Accounting & Assurance Finance Functional Area
- Assisting in managing cross-business interfaces for assurance processes
- Participating in special projects as required
- Having monthly and quarterly responsibilities that may require working limited overtime



Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting/Finance and have approximately 3 - 5 years related work experience. CPA certification is a plus. Previous Oil Products experience is a plus.
