Assurance Senior

Essential Functions of This Position:

 

Actively participate in the engagement process of financial statements audits, reviews and compilations for clients in different industries.  Involved in other client or internal special projects.  Will be lead person in the field on many engagements and will provide some supervision to Assurance Staff.

?  Assist in the execution of audit, review and compilation engagements or other projects for clients in different industries. This also includes preparation of financial statements and management letter comments.

?  Supervise and review work of staff auditors and/or interns on assigned client engagements.

?  Responsible for training staff accountants.

?  Interact closely with Assurance Managers, Senior Managers and Members on all client matters and audit team matters.

?  Responsible for participating and heading audit / review reengineering meetings.

?  Monitor the budget and progress of assigned audit, review and compilation engagements.

?  Identify performance improvement opportunities for clients served.

?  Interact with client to help ensure the information flow from client to audit team is efficient.

?  Knowledgeable and ability to apply 5 Star Service criteria.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Specific competencies required for successful job performance.)

 

?  Analytical skills

?  Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

?  Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques

?  Willing to work hours as needed to meet client deadlines

?  Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (Excel, Word)

?  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

?  Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS and developing knowledge of fundamentals of technical research

?  Proficiency with PC and all software utilized by Assurance Department

?  Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner

 

 

Work Experience and Education (Minimum number of job-related years of experience and education required for successful job performance.)

 

?  BA or BS in accounting or a related field

?  Must be a CPA or in the process of obtaining a CPA

?  Approximately 2-3 years of financial audit experience

 

 

Organizational Relationships (Titles and number of associates that directly and/or indirectly report to this position)

 

?  Depending on the engagement interns and staff will report to a Senior.

?  Depending on the engagement, reports to Managers, Senior Managers and Members.

 

 

Scope of Responsibility

 

?  Responsible for minimum billable hours of 1750 per year

?  Responsible for total minimum hours of 2300 per year

?  Responsible for areas of engagement budget assigned to or entire engagement budget, depending on assignment and engagement timeline

 

 Special Requirements

 

?  Reliable transportation for on-site client work required.

?  Appropriate professional dress
