corporate strategic buyers with the full range of transaction execution issues, including due diligence, tax and accounting structuring, merger integration, and post-transaction considerations (including portfolio company services). Financial Accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
and its application are essential. Necessary to detect aggressive or incorrect application of financial reporting for US or international GAAP purposes on due diligence assignments, to analyze effect of alternative treatments, and to make quantified statements about the consequences of applying a particular accounting principle.
- Exposure to industry specific accounting issues in any of the following industries is desirable: technology, real estate, hospitality, energy, manufacturing, retail, healthcare/life sciences, or airline
Financial and Other Quantitative Analysis
- Strong analytical skills are essential.
- Must be able to make quantified statements about reserve levels, revenue trends, cost and expense trends, profitability by customer or area, customer retention, complex pro forma analyses, etc. based on analysis of financial statements, underlying financial records, and data bases beyond the financial reporting system
- Strong EXCEL skills are essential

Knowledge of ACCESS or other database language is desirable.
Communication Skills
- Ability to write detailed, articulate reports of findings is essential.
- Strong writing skills are required.
- Must be proficient at communicating quantitative information.
- Strong verbal communication skills and executive presence are essential. Discussions are often at the CEO, CFO and controller levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in teams with lawyers, investment bankers and management and financial consultants is essential.
Must be able to work very effectively with client, other professional advisors, and other members of Deloitte team.
Proficiency in POWERPOINT is highly desirable; many presentations are prepared in this format
Travel
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice and for extended periods is essential.
Experience
- Ideal candidate will have experience auditing complex public companies
and National Office experience in a large accounting firm.
- CPA required
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- MA/MBA desired
- 5+ years related experience
