Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope. Conducts internal financial audits and risk assessments. Develops formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, and makes recommendations as appropriate. Executes internal audits within established business process controls. Tests and documents the financial and operating system processes for information integrity of transaction documents.

Auditor II's work in teams to perform independent assessments of Sprint Nextels financial, operational and IT processes. A significant amount of time is dedicated to supporting Sprint Nextels Sarbanes-Oxley 404 certification process. Serving Sprint Nextel management and the Audit Committee of Sprint Nextels Board of Directors, audit teams partner with client departments to analyze and solve critical business issues, seeking opportunities to increase revenues and decrease costs. The results of the Auditors efforts serve as a catalyst for change throughout Sprint Nextel. Through exposure to numerous business processes and organizations, Auditors develop a global view of Sprint Nextel and the telecommunications industry.

 Auditor IIs are assigned to approximately 4-8 audits/projects per year and can expect to travel approximately 25% of the time. In addition, Auditor IIs will have the opportunity to participate in special projects. Auditor II's will contribute ideas to help shape the strategic direction and approach of the audit. Auditor IIs will own a segment of the audit, conduct interviews with segment owners, and walkthrough and document the process of their segment. They will perform process-level risk assessments, program development, and detailed testing of established controls. Auditor IIs will document information obtained through the use of work papers, flowcharts, graphs or other forms that effectively communicate information.

Finally, Auditor IIs will have opportunities to assist in drafting audit reports and in presenting results to various levels of management. Undergraduate or Masters degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, MIS, or other related field required plus 2-7 years experience in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Business Process Improvement, Operations, or other related field required. This person could be officed in either Kansas City or Reston.
