Bookkeeper/Office Assistant

Expanding international brokerage firm is looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, experienced person with strong bookkeeping, payroll and outstanding general office /human resources skills. The individual will provide and supervise the accounting functions of the firm, including payroll functions, accounts payable and accounts receivables, expense account management, and client receivables accounts.  Reporting to the Managing Director this position provides for internal and external reports as needed and a variety of other reports associated with the managing of the business/financial affairs of a brokerage branch including programs, services, events and special projects. Familiarity with Microsoft software programs required. Associate degree or certification in accounting or related field required, with at least three years of direct and proven experience. Responsibilities: Prepare accounts payable invoices for payment Coordinating with parent office the preparation of receivable invoices for mailingProcess expense accounts for reimbursement Use "Peachtree" software and prepare checks for signature Use "Peachtree" software and enter all transactions Maintain an petty cash fund Maintain regular contact with Managing Director with respect to cash flow Answer telephones, take messages, and general office duties including filing of financial material Reconcile accounts receivable with parent officeAssist and prepare bi-weekly payroll with outside accounting firmMonthly reconciliation of bank accounts Assist and prepare monthly financial statements from ?Peachtree" with outside accounting firm as required (monthly, annual, scheduled, etc.) Prepare and submit general business forms Prepare documentation and adjustments needed for year-end audit and provide assistance to external auditors Develop spreadsheets for cash flow, budget,  projects and financial reporting Prepare and analyze monthly expense and P&L reports

 

Skills required: 3 Years experience in accounting and good understanding of general bookkeeping functions Strong Preference for Spanish speakingExcellent grasp of software packages, including "Peachtree", MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Ability to work alone as required Organizational skills to ensure deadlines and schedules are met
