-Understand business economic models and applications of such to evaluate cost/benefit relationships with third parties.
-Work closely with marketing staff to understand business needs and strategies.
-Complete analysis of proposed marketing partnerships. This includes framework to consider intangible value propositions. Provide solid business recommendations based on analysis, understanding of business needs/strategies and situation.
-Understand data elements in support of analysis and be efficient in obtaining and working with data.
-Ensure that the negotiating parties are fully briefed prior to contract negotiations and provide input to develop several potential negotiating scenarios based on the analysis and recommendations made. On occasion, where requested, lead or participate in negotiations.
-Work with Legal to draft the legal documents that properly reflect the contractual arrangements.
-Responsible for administration of marketing contractual arrangements and act as key administrative lead of the assigned relationships. Proactively monitor these relationships and keep customer and manager informed of new opportunities.
-Monitor contractual arrangements to ensure compliance from both parties. Participate in the management of significant partnerships through a prescribed contractual partnership management policy.
-Work with Marketing staff to complete a post agreement evaluation to build a continual learning organization for the arrangements of material size/impact to the Division
-Identify ways to improve the contracting process through use of standard templates that enable the Marketing Division to move quickly and in compliance to prescribed policies and corporate governance requirements.
-Stay current on business evaluation and analysis tools and models.
-Ensure compliance by Marketing staff on the processes to procure and manage effective marketing service arrangements/partnerships
-Provide input on agency and other service partner management.
-Ensure compliance with Financial and Legal requirements.
-Be familiar with procurement polices and provide guidance to Marketing Staff related to these on occasion.
-The latitude for strategic planning is typically up to one year. The latitude for analysis of contractual relationships is typically up to three years but occasionally may include longer terms.
-Identify the opportunities for analytical work to keep abreast of changes within Marketing that may affect contractual arrangements.
-Participate and occasionally lead the RFP, Bid or Review processes to source service relationships for Marketing.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

' A relevant Bachelors degree with 3 - 5 years experience preferably within a blue chip corporation
' A Masters degree and experience in Consumer Goods would be advantageous
' Solid financial management experience
' A broad financial understanding and a solid commercial focus
' Requires a thorough knowledge of financial analysis and preferably some experience in support of the Marketing function
' Meticulous work ethic
' Demonstrated capability in managing multiple priorities at one time effectively and independently.
' Some experience in leading groups of people from multiple disciplines towards completion of a common goal.
' Experience in developing rapport with internal and senior customers
' Demonstrated capability in assessing and analyzing spending or investment decisions.
' Familiarity with legal arrangements and knowledge of risk management helpful.
