Business Unit Controller

Our client, a freestanding business $50 million segment of a large multi-national industrial manufacturer has asked us to help them identify talented individuals for a Controller role within their organization. Reporting to the business unit?s General Manager, the successful candidate will manage, plan, organize, direct and control the business unit?s accounting organization as well as the processes impacting financial reporting and controls while developing and coaching up to a dozen direct and indirect reports. The Controller will be responsible for the preparation and final review of the annual budget, shorter-term operations forecasts, operations analysis, senior management reporting, manufacturing cost accounting, the monthly closing process, and various transaction based accounting activities for domestic and some international business. This role will also be responsible for the business? internal control systems, will champion the Sarbanes-Oxley efforts, and is expected to ensure compliance with tax related issues. The Controller will be a key member of the senior management team and is expected to pro-actively identify, investigate and drive to implementation, business improvement opportunities (Champion Process Change).

 

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (CPA and/or MBA desired); at least five to seven years of progressively responsible applicable financial experience; strong analytical and managerial skills; manufacturing cost accounting expertise; demonstrated experience in process improvement, team building and financial systems implementations; solid knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls; excellent communication capabilities; computer literacy; high integrity; and demonstrated experience driving change and productivity initiatives. MUST HAVE FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT.
